Applications

An AERB-compliant end-of-life route for every sealed source on the nuclear-medicine department inventory

Routine end-of-life return

When a Co-57 flood source or Ge-68 line source has decayed beyond useful clinical activity, the radiation-safety officer initiates the return through Saxsons. Saxsons handles the AERB transport paperwork, decay-store coordination and pickup — the source leaves the facility cleanly.

QA-source replacement cycle

A QA reference set (Co-57, Co-60, Cs-137, Ba-133) supplied this year will eventually be replaced. The same Saxsons relationship that delivered the set handles the return of the previous set — one inventory line, one supplier, one paper trail.

NM department decommissioning

When an Indian NM department is restructured or relocated, the existing sealed-source inventory has to be cleared from the AERB facility licence. Saxsons supplies the decommissioning documentation the operator needs and removes the sources via the return service.

Equipment-upgrade source clear-out

PET system replacement, dose calibrator swap-out, or moving from SPECT to SPECT-CT often leaves a residual sealed-source inventory tied to the old equipment. Saxsons clears the inventory through the return service so the upgrade audit closes cleanly.

AERB inspection prep

A clean inventory of in-service sources, with documented decommissioning routes for retired ones, is a stronger AERB inspection narrative than a partial paper trail. The Saxsons return service supplies the missing-link documentation.

Source return after a clinical incident

When a source is taken out of service due to an incident (suspected damage, wipe-test failure, regulatory action), Saxsons supplies the controlled-collection logistics and the AERB-aligned chain-of-custody documentation.

Why Saxsons Radioactive Source Return Service?

One supplier
Supply and return, same relationship

The same Saxsons relationship that supplied the source handles its return at end of life. The radiation-safety officer does not need to find a separate disposal vendor — and Saxsons already knows the activity, the certificate and the facility on file.

AERB paperwork
Documentation, not just logistics

Source return is mostly paperwork — shipping manifest, AERB notification, chain-of-custody, final disposal certificate. Saxsons supplies the paperwork end-to-end so the operator updates the AERB facility licence without re-authoring the dossier.

India-wide
Local logistics, no overseas dependency

Operated in India by Saxsons Healthcare Pvt. Ltd. with AERB-licensed transport partners. No overseas teleassistance dependency, no import-export complications for a source that needs to leave a hospital cleanly.
