Applications
The right radio-TLC scanner for bench-depth-constrained hot labs
Satellite imaging centre
PET / SPECT satellite centres that receive labelled doses centrally but need on-site %RCP verification before injection. Compact chassis fits inside a small hot-lab fit-out — the satellite gets the same release-grade QC as the central radiopharmacy.
Single-suite theranostic
Stand-alone theranostic clinics dispensing Lu-177 DOTATATE / PSMA-617 in single-suite fit-outs — the radio-TLC release sits next to the dose calibrator on the same 600 mm bench without crowding the dispensing zone.
Academic hot-lab fit-out
Teaching-hospital and research-radiopharmacy installations where the hot lab is a converted room with constrained bench depth. Compact instrument keeps the full release-grade QC capability within the room budget.
Disaster-recovery instrument
Departments that keep a backup radio-TLC scanner for instrument-down contingency — Slim chassis stores easily and slides into bench position when the primary instrument is in service.
F-18 PET tracer release
Per-batch [18F]FDG and [18F]NaF release in compact PET-tracer pharmacies — same Eur.Ph. monograph thresholds, same release semantics, smaller bench footprint.
Tc-99m kit release
Daily cold-kit Tc-99m release (MDP, DMSA, MIBI, ECD, MAG3) in space-constrained nuclear-medicine departments — the compact chassis means the release-grade scanner fits on the existing bench without rebuilding the hot lab.
Why miniGITA Slim?
A standard hot-lab bench is typically 600 mm deep. The compact chassis sits within that depth without overhanging the dispensing zone — important when the dispensing technologist is working at the same bench. Full-size scanners typically need 700–800 mm and force a bench rebuild.
The detection chain — interchangeable scintillation probe head (BGO + PMT OFA default; ZnS(Tl) Alpha and PMT 3SA optional), electronics, software — is shared with the full-size scanner. Methods written for one instrument run on the other. A site that grows from a Slim install into a full hot lab does not throw away its method library.
Compact footprint does not mean a stripped-down audit trail. The 21 CFR Part 11 compliance, the electronic-signature non-repudiation, and the method-versioning are the same as the full-size instrument — the release record meets the same AERB inspection expectation.

FAQ
Slim radio-TLC scanner — questions we hear from Indian radiopharmacy teams
Why satellite and start-up hot labs need a compact-chassis scanner, whether the slim form compromises QC capability, which departments pick it over full-size, and how it fits USP <823> release testing.
Q.Why does a satellite or start-up NM hot lab need a slim-footprint radio-TLC scanner?
Small satellite radiopharmacy suites, start-up nuclear-medicine departments and shared research-hospital hot labs have limited bench space — 60–100 cm of workstation is common. A standard radio-TLC scanner occupies 40–50 cm and rules out other bench equipment. miniGITA Slim compresses the same radio-TLC scan capability into a slim chassis that sits alongside the dose calibrator and vial-shield rack without displacing them.
Q.Does the small chassis mean reduced QC capability compared to miniGITA Single?
No — the RCP scan quality, isotope coverage (Tc-99m, F-18, Ga-68, Lu-177, I-131) and USP <823> compliance are the same as the full-size Single. What is trimmed is the physical width — same detector, same integration, same peak analysis, same audit-trail digital record.
Q.Which departments typically pick miniGITA Slim over the full-size Single?
Satellite radiopharmacies attached to a central hot lab, small independent nuclear-medicine departments where bench space is a binding constraint, research-hospital hot labs where multiple instruments compete for the same 100 cm of workstation, and mobile / temporary radiopharmacy setups where floor plate matters.
Q.How does miniGITA Slim fit USP <823> and the AERB batch-release chain?
Same as the full-size unit — USP <823> RCP release testing, AERB Safety Code batch-release record, EU GMP Annex 3 audit-trail digital file. The Slim label refers to the physical form factor, not the QC scope.
Q.How is miniGITA Slim supplied and supported in India?
Distributed across India by Saxsons Group. Supply covers the scanner, TLC-method library for the department's isotope mix, commissioning against the hot-lab QC workflow and applications training. Imported under CDSCO Medical Devices Rules 2017.
